“Architecture is the delicate dance between the natural environment
and the 'new world' that we create — Its infinite expressions shape our experience, and therefore our lives.”

Coalescent architecture is the joining of the natural and
architectural environments to create a new living form — the
coalescent environment.

As we bring architectural forms, plant life, and the forms of
the natural environment together, they are orchestrated like
notes that unfold in a beautiful piece of music.  From the
subtle, to the most powerful, every element coalesces to
create a single fluid form.

Within this new form, a symbiotic relationship emerges;
a relationship that extends beyond the elements of the new
environment to include all who encounter it.

The solid forms of the environment provide microclimates
and shelter in which a variety of plant life flourishes
— and
the plant life controls erosion to protect the integrity of the
form.  The form provides us shelter and stability — and we
protect the form against decay and weather.

We nourish the plant life with carbon dioxide as we breathe,
and help them reproduce with our touch — and the plant life
provides us shelter, purifies our water, and produces oxygen
for us to breathe.

As the plants humidify our air, they remove toxins, mold
spores, and other microbes.  They also produce negative ions
(with their leaves as they transpire) which are essential for
our physical and emotional health.

The coalescent environment shapes our emotional lives as
it nourishes and protects us.  It is a microcosm — filled with
the mysteries, wonder, and sculptural beauty of the natural
environment.
